New York Offering Very Cheap Hotels this summer

Tourism predictably has been severely hit in many countries or specific cities due to this recession we are experiencing. New York is a prime example, known as a popular location for those looking to buy cheap Levis and other American goods during the day and enjoy a vibrant city at night; these difficult times have meant the uptake for hotels has been very low. It is a double whammy for the city of New York since the effects of Wall Street have also taken their toll. Not only are international visitor numbers down, domestic visitor numbers are too.

While it has been bad for business in New York it provides an opportunity for international visitors to enjoy a cheap hotel in New York. Prices are at a six year as New York hoteliers look to draw tourists back in.

A quick search reveals half price rooms at the Hudson Hotel. The Empire Hotel prices have been knocked down from £205 per night to £92! There are many more cheap hotels to be found.

The simplest and quickest method of finding the best hotel bargain is to use a hotel comparison site, there are many on the internet all sporting slightly different features. Some will allow you to plan your whole holiday so once you have found a cheap hotel room you can search for a flight to go with it. Prices for flights to New York are also lower now than in previous years so this could well be THE summer bargain. I ran a quick search for flights to New York from London; there is a return flight for £285! What a deal!

There are other locations around the world that are sadly suffering from the reduced tourist trade so using a comparison site will certainly help you sniff out those bargains. There are new announcements for cheap hotels, so keep checking. It looks like many of the hotel big groups will be discounting their hotel rooms to bring in the customers, so keep your eyes peeled.

It is predicted the exchange rate will continue to improve and may rise up to $1.80 to £1 so things many get even better for British tourists.
